The Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival is scheduled for Carrick-on-Suir hometown of the Clancy Brothers from June 11 – 14th 2009.

ARTS TRAIL

Blawnin Clancy and Rayleen Clancy daughters of Tom Clancy will exhibit new paintings upstairs in the Resource Centre.

Exhibitions by local artists also in Resource Centre and other venues including the Public Library, Brewery Lane Theatre, Old Friary in Carrig Beg, and a number of schools. Opening hours Friday - Sunday 11am – 4pm daily.

Carrick-on-Suir Camera Club are displaying work in the Strand Theatre.

HERITAGE CENTRE

The Heritage Centre will display Clancy Brothers memorabilia and other interesting artefacts from Carrick’s long and rich history.

• SATURDAY 13th JUNE

  Walking tour of Carrick with local historian Tom Walsh at 11am. €5 per adult . Tour covers 800 years of the town’s history & heritage.

  Lunchtime Theatre Brewery Lane Theatre at 1pm - €15 including a light lunch.

  Street Entertainment Main Street and Sean Kelly Square at 2-5pm. FREE International Street Theatre performers, and live music. Main Street will be closed from 2-5pm.

  An Evening with Liam Clancy The Strand Theatre at 8pm. €30

  Mala Raggett and friends Resource Centre at 8.15pm. €15

  Ryland Teify and Roisin Clancy Brewery Lane Theatre at 8.30pm. €15 An evening of Irish Welsh songs, poetry and drama including renditions of Dylan Thomas, WB Yeats, James Joyce and an array of traditional and contemporary songs.

• SUNDAY 14th JUNE

  Family Fun Day Fair Green at 2-5pm. FREE. An afternoon of Music and entertainment for all the family with a big stage, street performers, bouncy Slides and lots more.

  An Emigrants Tale by Martin Murray The Strand Theatre at 8pm. €25

  Ryland Teify and Roisin Clancy Brewery Lane Theatre at 8.30pm. €15
