Eilis O’Toole’s painting practice which is concerned with attention. To go beyond simply seeing, but to notice moments in time and the heightened awareness of the immediate space. The struggle to grasp something tangible as everything seems slightly out of reach. It is these landscapes and the relationship between the visual and emotional response, which are of concern, so, even though the scene is place specific you could also say it is nowhere, it exists in the mind.

Eilis has exhibited in both solo and jury selected group shows, and her paintings are in collections such as the OPW, AXA Insurance, Waterford Art Collection.

Eilis graduated from National College of Art & Design specialising in Fine Art Painting in 1999. She has exhibited in many juried group exhibitions throughout Ireland. Solo exhibitions include Momentary Narrow Space, Clonmel and Early one Morning in The Hallward Gallery, Dublin. She has participated in an artist residency in Reykjavik Iceland.

Her work is held in public collections including the OPW and AXA Insurance, and Waterford City & County Collection.
