“Inspired by a walk along the Ballyvoyle section of the Waterford Greenway, these paintings capture the unique atmosphere of part of the route's most enchanting stretches. Towering rock faces covered in moss, ferns and wild vegetation create a natural tunnel, while dappled sunlight filters through the trees above” explained Sinéad.

Sinead Hehir is a visual artist from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, specialising in landscape painting inspired by the natural beauty of the Irish countryside. Through painting, she explores light, colour and atmosphere, often capturing familiar local scenes with a strong sense of place and connection to nature.

She graduated from Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork, with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2009, receiving both the CIT Purchase Prize and OPW Purchase Prize. She later completed a Higher Diploma in Art Education with First Class Honours, earning the Marshall Hutson Award for Best Art Education Student and CIT Student of the Year.

Sinéad has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions throughout Ireland and has been recognised in a number of national art competitions. In 2018, her work was selected by public vote for A Better Place exhibition at University Hospital Waterford.

Alongside her artistic practice, Sinéad is an experienced art educator who is passionate about encouraging creativity and artistic expression in young people.
